Ok, so I should know this already, but... Is it possible to swap a first gen (91-94) interior for a second gen or later? I know fender swapping can be done on the front end, but I was sittin in my car looking at it today, contenplating how expensive/difficult it would be to take an inerior from a wrecked 2nd gen and replacing mine. Is it possible? Would it be horrificly expensive? Are we talking unrealistic dreams here? I would just want to swap the dash, gauge clusters, and such... basically the front half of the car... hehe... anyone wanna guess at an answer? thanks

I have your answers. Your not going to like them though. I am in the middle of swapping my 1991 Dash over to a 1997 Eddie bauer Explorer Dash (2nd gen.)
The 95+ Dash is not, I repeat not bolt on. IT is goign to take some major fab work to get this thing to fit. Also, the heating and AC system is electronically controlled using vaccum solenoids instead of cables like on the 1991. The easiest way to do this swap would to probably be to swap your firewalls, with calls for a plasma torch and a lot of welding. The dash guages won't work, because they are being controlled by a EEC-V OBD-II computer system. The reason why I am gettign away with this is becuase I am installing every last wire from the 97 explorer in to my 91 X. i'll have more details later.

Haha, Asp... alright man, that answered it... im NOT gonna even try. Haha. I was just figuring I would ask, and it it was "simple" enough I would try, but that my friend, is more work that I want. Guess Ill just save up a lil more $ and go buy a 2nd gen. Thanks a lot man.
