Hi everyone. I had a question about the lower ball joints in my 96 XLT, I was changing a hub bearing today and when I had the upper control arm off I just happened to grab the spindle and try to lift it up and down while still connected to the lower A arm, and it moved about a half and inch up and down, while the A arm didn't, it had no side to side movement, even with the wheel on I tried the usuall ball joint check (yes I know how to do it) and it passed. It seems like the ball has a lot of up and down play inside the socket on the ball joint, but none side to side. Both sides are the same, with play, I automatically think that ball joint is shot, so I am planning on changing both tomorrow. What do you guys think?------Jack
