I own a '03 Sport Trac, it has 95k on it. 2 years ago, I started it up in the supermarket parking lot, and pulled out on the highway and noticed that the automatic transmission was not shifting into 3rd gear and the engine was missing. I was down to under a 1/4 tank of gas and thought perhaps I had water in the gas. I pulled into the gas station, shut it off, filled it up with gas, started it up and the truck ran fine. Yesterday, the same thing happened. I was driving it to the bank, it was fully warmed up, ( I had driven it 10 miles or so)but this time the gas tank was full.When i came out of the bank, it happened again...lazy ****ing and a miss in the engine. I pulled into my garage, shut it off. Started it right back up and the problem disappeared again. No miss in the engine, transmission shifted fine. Any ideas? I am stumped. It ran fine today, put on 50 or so miles on it. I would love to know if it is something I should keep an eye on or something I can fix.
