This is the same thing that happened to me, however, the highest octane fuel available to me is 91. This seems to have helped but not completely cure the issue. Maybe the knock sensor is detecting a bit of knock and backing out the timing hence the shutter?
I also only have 91 octane available to me but thankfully do not have any shutters or vibrations in our sport. I have even put 88 octane in it twice (Chevron if that helps) and did not notice any difference at all. I now continue to put 91 octane in, just because I feel that the car would probably be thanking me or something silly, since it's recommended. As soon as the '14 Suburbans come out we will be trading it in, so I'm sure I could experiment more with different octanes and not have too much guilt on my conscious lol
