One of my friends bought one of these flip out moniter systems and apon reading I came across a site that said that the car needs to be in Park with the emergency brake on in order to use it as a video moniter.....Does this mean that the passenger can't watch a dvd or play ps2 while the car is moving....? If so is there any way to bypass that ... ??

Nah dont listen to them ! my friend has a pioneer flip up and it said the same thing. There is something that can be with the grounding to bypass that. Im not sure what it is exactly but now that you know you can look around for the ground solution.

legally speaking...as long as the screen is in sight of the driver no movie can be played etc.... but realistically speaking...it's completely possible and easy at that...just ground the pink wire.

I dont know about the Jenson unit, but my old unit was smart... It knew when you grounded the wire and wouldn't work (there is another thread on here with someone else having the same problem) But you can have the installer (in my case Tweeter) mount a "hidden" switch that will allow you to bypass the wire and have it running while the car is in motion.(for the passengers) and once you get it, dont let another soul drive that car becasue i can assure you they WILL watch it while they are driving (that is unless they have one of their own and know how to actually respect the toys).

^^i have the hidden button under my steering column... haha its great

i almost bought that unit! the cool thing is that it has a built-in tv tuner, the reason why i went with my pioneer is because of the touch screen. At my work we dont get a lot of those returned, so im guessing theyre an alright unit.
