Yea well rather be safe than sorry! ! I can do both by my self!!! And wutev you still didnt get those valves off by that stupid screwdriver way!!!! ;)hhaa

Lol, I watched a guy do it on a 5.7L head, must be a GM thing, you know those Chevy guys are rrreeal good with scewdrivers.. :p::D

another reason to be doing this build. my job just got half easier, theres only 2 bolts on the flexplate(i think its called?)!! thats why i mentioned in the other post all i saw was the threads
theres no way this is a 1 person job without getting in and out over and over. i goto turn the nut off and the wheel moves knocking my socket off and i cant immobilize the pulley cause then i cant turn it with the screwdriver.
this would take 5mins with 2 people

You really need to get those nuts off the torque converter. Is there a way to get a helper?
Don't mess with them and loose your patience, I would hate to see the nuts get rounded off, which is kind of easy to do.

Yes, getting the torque converter nuts requires a frequent mileage package back and forth---:D
You are lucky if you can get the 4 nuts with only 10 trips up and under-

You might try a breaker bar to the crank pulley bolt, and a pipe extension running it to the ground. This would keep the crank from turning-

Be careful under there.

no helper. friend i used to work with cant and jds having fun with his new tires.

ive got a breaker bar attached to the crank and its on the frame. i think im rounding one of them off, i was using the the 16 point or whatever socket. i went and got a 6 point but its either to rounded or its not going on there enough even hitting it with a hammer cause it keeps sliding off.

i got lucky, i only have 2 nuts holding it on, the other two are MIA(may not turn out so good..)

well i tried the other one and adjusted the breaker bar on the crank. came off with some hammering. then tried the other one that i was rounding off and got that one!
so all two of them are off...

i got 2 tranny bolts out while i was down there also.

Yep!i got a guy that can rebuild it pretty cheap

Ill ask him next time i see him

mmmkay.
pretty much ready to be pulled whenever you have a day to help. ill call in sick.
just 6 tranny bolts, and whatever wires i may have missed. i already put the other head back on.
