Yea there talking about gas getting up to $4 a gallon for regular! ! I run 93 so thats like $5 a gal and im getting like 9 miles per gallon with these tires and gears!!!:thumbdwn:

i know it sucks! it was $3.03. it was $52 for almost a full tank in the '97. no idea of the mileage of it, but the pickup i normaly drive now gets 15 :/. mine was getting 11. from what you said im gonna need 89 when im done...
i need a good 25+mpg daily. a truck tho, has to be high up! unless its a 20+ mpg rat rod...

yes find out so i can pay you before i impulse-buy something else lol
just spent $450 on summitracing last night!

speaking of the '97, 0-60 was 10secs flat 2 times today. i need to find a place to do 1/4mile, va bleach blvd wouldnt work well going 70+
using speedview btw. know any others for 1/4 & 0-60 thats good?

well its 85% ish clean. the rest i should just be able to get by hand.
before i tear it apart again just to have you tell me i need something on to do ___, ill leave it alone lol

so whats next? (after taking intake/heads off) take off pulley then the timing cover?

I'd take that Crank sensor off and stash it before your do anything else. Don't want to damage it.

Then I'd say try to pull the crank pulley off, gonna need one helluva impact gun or breaker bar to unbolt that thing off.

Yeah, that thing broke one of my Craftsman impact sockets.. I had to use a Kobalt 1/2" impact socket on a huge breaker bar with a piece 3/8" walled pipe as an extention... oh and the truck's starter helped somewhat.. ;)

lol. just like staples, that was easy! grabbed a 2ft breaker bar and a 1/2" 3/4 socket and the bolt came right out!
but the pulley is still on there, how does it come off?

lol at me using man power to get it off and you needing to turn over the engine. but you are superman with valve cover bolts tho! :p

you need to buy or rent a balancer removal tool

lol no wonder i couldnt find one, i was looking for a crack pulley puller. shouldve been looking for harmonic pulley puller. ill get one today

a crack pulley puller? something you should be telling us?

If you can't get a hold of a harmonic balancer puller then an Olds err Pontiac (forgot what Autozone rented it for) steering wheel puller works.

crank! not that theres anything wrong with :mattmoon:.... but thats meant for another thread somewhere else... lolol

hopefully i can get that off tonight.

damn summitracing order is coming from 6 different places. new plugs showed up today lol

yea i ordered a rockauto order and it shipped from 2 different places and the one from Texas shipped Priority mail got here today and cost $5 to ship and the one from Ohio, closer gets here tomorrow and cost $8 to ship WTF:rolleyes:
ps that motor came pretty darn clean

Make sure to get a new bolt for the crank pully if you don't have one already...it's a TTY.

ive heard that but not till i used the old one again, but i havent had any problems with it

my plugs came from ohio. was the $8 heavier or was it shipped ups?
problem is 2 things were at the summit warehouse. the rest are being forwarded to the manufactuer and shipped from there, so it makes a lot of packages :(

it did get clean, mostly the dirt thats left i didnt even see until the camera flash lit it up. and some was in cracks(lol) that i couldnt get to. there seems to be some surface rust spots on it tho.

ill have to think about a new bolt. whats tty?

any good water pumps to go for? ill just be getting this one if not: http://cardone.com/English/club/members/customer/ecat_brands/imageinfo.asp?PARTNUM=5523315

piston rings: standard or due to wear am i gonna need to measure for oversized on that too?

and the headers i have. you can see what im talking about in the first engine pic above.
but the flange is to far back and the pipes stick out, not flat, so it wont sit well on the head and the gasket doesnt fit either cause of it.
sand the pipes down even with the flange?
