pulley is on! they had a brand new kit, but no wrenches! a damn customer got some from his car and helped me. atleast i got to use the installer for free anyway lol

i took this pic for another reason not related to the pulley, but ill put it up anyway.
i need to mask it off and repaint it. ive screwed it up so much from fighting with it :(

Just cut a 2"hole in the center of cardboard or big sheet of paper and a slit to the hole and slide it over the backside of the pulleys and touch them up with some paint.

I have an extra set from when they blew up on me!!;(looks like rain again on wed

Nope said i wish i had the new ford ones and i thought rockauto carried them.i need to switch mine out some day, think ill wait till they wear more

yea by the looks of yours theyd be better lol

well i bought a hacksaw blade the other day. its an agressive flexable rope. says it cuts harded steel among other things. being flexable i should be able to wrap it around and pull on it each way to cut through. i need to make some kind of handles tho.
hopefully THAT goes through that damn y-pipe

i hope it stops raining, id love to get the engine in this week :(

Looks like the rest of today should be nice

well if you want me to come get you, try and get the cat off and do the o2 sensor for the new y-pipe?
pushrods didnt come today, ups is done for the day. theyll be here tomorrow then. so hopefully wednesday it isnt raining much........

i am so broke :(
gas in the pickup, gas in mine when running, $100 fluids, valve cover gaskets, food until payday. thats $300 i have to borrow.
god i cant wait until this builds over lol

sounds to me you shouldn't have taken that trip while in the middle of a build!!yea im down to work some today.damn my ups dont run till 5!!!that sucks.ive rode my bike all weekend so i still got a little gas left in my truck, what time will you be home?glad i get 60+ mpg on it hahah

the trip costed ~$55 in gas and $6.30 in food + $4 tip(tipped for my food unclemeat paid for) (plus i was in there 4hrs)

well our ups pickup isnt done, but deliveries are. hes gonna hate us today too, 40 ups triangle tubes and 15 70lb boxes :) (so far.....)

60mpg with a motor or do you mean 60 carbs-burned/mile? lol
ill be home at 5

$65.30 that could have been used for the build or for my gas for coming over so much and helping!!!!
i get 60+mpg on my bike and man i wished i went with that PC also it does look nice:)

nah id jsut have $30, im in the hole again lol
this reminds me, you need any remmington elec shavers or schick? toilet paper, towels, napkins, cups, plasticware? sweedish fish or sour patch? trident gum? i deal with that crap

Its 5!! Whos late now!?!?

i had to get gas! 10 mins late, big deal!

well. short version: 5hrs later, its in!
long version: motor mounts were not right, alignment holes were off on the passenger side, had to nip it off. all the cat needed was two people. one to hold it from moving and one cutting. plus i think my sawzal was just a hair longer making it not work :p
could not get it in with the torque converter on. crooked/wouldnt line up right. took it off and fought with the drivers mount cause the pin wouldnt line up. put a tranny bolt through and finally shook the motor into place. and we got lucky, the flexplate lined right up to the converter. putting the nuts in is much easier with two people, but outside the truck is easiest which didnt work. the oil filter had to be taken off cause it hit the frame and wouldnt let the engine go in at first.

i got lucky with the elec fan, i have about 1/4" clearance with teh water pump pulley, didnt have to cut the piece in from the motor. glad i was too broke to buy a more expensive, thicker radiator now lol

apparently my vacuum lines are all screwed up too lol
no wonder i had no power and heard an air sucking noise.

note: anyone replacing motor mounts, dont buy the passenger one listed on my parts list if you cant cut the tab off. or maybe i just happened to get a retarded mount, i dont know.
but those things are hard as hell to replace! drivers side: fairly easy. passenger side: very difficult. used the hoist to jack the truck up by the frame just to get enough room

Dont forget but nuts are loose on the passenger side motor mount are still loose.it took a torch and beating for the bolts to get knocked out the cat!!!! Seemed like everything has been a fight with this swap!!;(

yea, that cat fused itself pretty good to those bolts! dont forget pb blaster too.
you arent lying when you say 'everything' has been a fight either....

oh yea! lol. its the passenger one tho! you tightened the drivers with your impact. ill have to get in there and try that crap again now :(

truck dropped 1.5" with the engine in btw. 22.5" to 21.1" (from where i measured)

personal checklist: motor mount, y-pipe converted, tranny bolts, starter, rubber valve cover gaskets, pcv, oil filter, get all fluids, drain tranny, filter and gasket for tranny.

anything i miss?

Congrats dude!

Makes me want a 1st gen.. Y'all had SO MUCH more room to maneuver that thing than I did...
