SO I pulled in to the empty and waiting exhaust shop.

Whoa--what happened to the black truck? He asked.
I said" I figured I would give you some room to work" lol

We talked for a while and he asked what the problem was. I told him it felt like the e brake was being applied on the highway.

So, he went into the pit and yelled" Geexus have you been under this thing?

I said" well, as a matter of fact-----"

He went on to say "look at your muffler-it's been cherry hot" sure enough it had the blued effect on the stainless case.

He then said "looky at the tail pipe over the axle"

I looked and saw a very poor bend which had collapsed to about 3/4" of passage.

So, all new 2 1/2" exhaust with the same muffler and it is quite a bit louder now. The cat was also a bit clogged. Without posting up " I know what you did" just leave it at that.

It runs a bit better now by golly. Sheri should have cooler feet now too. She always complains about hot feet, even in the Mounty.

Yes, Maniak told me I couldn't mess with it. However, in post 1242 he gives advice.

OK yeah it goes back Wednesday. No top yet.

It's ok, as long as it is finished by the end of the month I will be happy.

Got the transfer case fluid changed and swapped back in the stock maf sensor this evening. Not much more because I have some sheetrock, mud work going on in the parrot's bedroom. I am going to finish that room this week.

The Mounty, with the 347 and Xcam got 18 MPG easy. This thing seems stuck on 12 or so.
I don't get it.

I do need to see what fixing the exhaust and switching the MAF does. I need to go for another drive on the highway.
