ok i read the chart and with a 4" suspension lift it says i can put 33x12.5x15. i'm wondering if i go to a 16" rim if that changes? i'm looking at 2 different packages.
1) 33x14x15 ss boggers with new rims
2) 33x12.5x16

just wondering what you've had expierience with 'cuz i don't want to run into problems with clearance issues and rubbing
thank you very much

The 14" wide boggers might be hard to fit.

are you talking about stock 16s? the 33x12.5x16 would probably be a better fit so it has less chance of rubbing... 33s might not even fit with jsut 4" of lift, thats a general chart.. trimming will be needed as well with either tires... that swamper you want with the 15s will 98% surety wont fit with jsut a 4" lift

so i need to go with a 33x10.5 or 33x12.5? will the rim make a difference 15 or 16? i'd get new ones either way so they would probably be 15x8 or 16x8. i really like the boggers but if the opinion is that they won't fit any other suggestions?

yes go with a 12.5" or less tire width - 14" in width is way too wide and will probably rub quite a bit.

rim diameter (15" or 16") only matters really when airing down as smaller rims allow the tire to "plump" out more when airing down.

do note that Interco tires are often larger than their advertised size (and for that matter, larger than most other company's tires). There r a few threads on the board that compare a few tires from different companies but all have the same advertised dimensions.

is you're 97 XLT purely a mud/snow/trail rig? I ask because Boggers are awful in highway driving and have a very short life span (in terms of mileage) which means you would be replacing tires more often which means more money (and lets face it, a set of four tires is quite expensive). If you plan on driving in the highways quite often (maybe to and from school/work), almost like a daily driver, i'd suggest going with something other than Boggers.

I did my undergrad in Rochester which is like 45 mins east of you and I can kinda understand the need for Boggers but IMHO, i think its overkill and will just end up costing you more money. And at 33" diameter, "mud terrain" tires (like BFGs) will probably perform just as well as Boggers. But if you have ur mind set on them, then kudos to you. ;)

Just my $0.2

ok that's a good point. i have a summer truck and i will probably not be putting that much road use on them but i will still be putting some. i have a set of thornbirds now and i love the look and the sound so maybe i'll look into those. are there any other tires as aggressive as the interco's? i really love the look and they're great in the sloppy stuff.

hehe i think we need to start looking at tires other than their appearance and the sound they make .. cauz thornbirds are the probably the worst "agressive looking" off road tire that exists (hehe sorry to bash on your current tires, but i'm hoping to make a point here)... search the net for the term "interco thornbirds suck" and you'll get more than just a few hits.. in fact, i remember some1 made an anti-thornbird logo/icon. i dont remember where on the net that was tho.

"are there any other tires as agressive as the intercos?" sure there are.. just search the net or pick up a 4-wheeler magazine or something. theres a handfull from many different manufacturers. however, whatever tire you settle on, search the net for reviews... search this message board and others like pirate4x4.. see what other ppl think and compare it to what you're going to be using them for... try not to buy them just cauz they look awesome.
