Hey all, New to the forums.

I just picked up a 96 white eddie bauer explorer and was wondering what are some good upgrades for it in all respects. Basically, whatever you think I should do now?

Pictures soon.

4wd or 2wd, want to lift, lower or leave it, V6 or V8?
More info = more answers.

Welcome to the site.

haha, ok its 4x4 AWD, i would like to lower but right now its just leave it, V8

Good tune up, replace commonly known things to fail that are cheap.

-Transmission flush/filter replacement, switch to synthetic
-Oil change/filter, use synthetic
-Differential fluid change, use synthetic
-thermostat, fuel filter, check the air filter if you plan to stay stock.
-seafoam it.

Performance things... intake, headers, cat-back, e-fan, tuning.

If you want to lift, the cheapest is using war 153 shackles in the back and twist the torsion bars in the front, you'll get an inch or two out of $55. A 3" body lift for the ranger i believe fits, but you have to custom make bumper brackets.

Suspension lifts are pretty pricey.

welcome to the forums. i'd suggest lifting it b/c it's 4wd, but al lowrider is always cool, especially if it can still go somewhere in the winter. If you decide to lift, it's only about $200 for a body lift and some shackles and the torsion twist is free! you can fit up to 33" mud tires on there.

welcome to the forum 3xplor3r I think you should put some flowmasters on ur eddie baurer.

I got flowmasters on my 01 sport and it sounds mean and tough

Like mentioned above, I'd get it in good working order before you begin any modifications. The V8s are very durable and have quite a few upgrades that are possible. Wish you the best of luck, they're thirsty! :p

Since it is a V8 it is AWD not 4wd. All lifting or lowering procedures are the same you just don't have 4-low or a selectable t-case.

Custom Tuning(chip/programmer), C&L maf, MAC cai. etc.... These are all good starts. As well as what all the other guys mentioned. Excellent recommendations.
