Not worth fixing. You could try to find a used motor, but you'd probably be better off looking for a newer replacement vehicle.

If it's really seized, ie doesn't turn freely when you try to start it then it's probably done for. Was there an oil pressure light on or anything?

No oil pressure light held perfect oil pressure,I'm not sure if it's turning freely,I'm gonna check tomorrow,I figured it's not worth fixing,I've found a 01 limited I'm gonna check out tomorrow

Well if it isn't seized might it just need a *-shaft position sensor or something?

So a sensor can make it knock like it's about to blow up?

A knock from a spun bearing usually ends up with the conrod exiting the block, not a seizure.

An engine seize comes from problems with the pistons and or rings.

One or more sensors probably play a role in ignition timing so in theory a sensor problem could cause knocking. First thing to do is see if the engine turns over normally when attempting to start it, assuming the battery still has sufficient charge in it.

You might also do an OBD2 code check, including pending faults.

No sensor is going to cause a knock. Pre-ignition while I still think it's a stretch, yes maybe. But a knock and then dead engine. There's no way that's a sensor.

Probably your timing set or the jackshaft or whatever that thing is called broke. It took out my old 97 SOHC engine at 162k miles.

^ The sensors should be able to cause a knock and can definitely prevent an engine from starting and running. It may not be as likely, but it's worth exploring in case the fix is cheaper than expected.

If we're talking spark knock yes I agree. But the way I'm reading this we're talking a rod knock. I guess it all depends on how hard/loud of a knock we're talking which is of course subjective. But either way OP has to see if the engine even turns. If it turns we go from there, if not it was probably a rod knock lol.

My vote also.

In theory I think I know what happened,it's had some loud rattling when I got it which was the bad cat cover also the cat itself,I've heard some noises in the engine also, thought it was just the exhaust, the more I thought about it I figured the timing chain was old and had slack in it,it had also been idling at 1000 and 1500 back in forth for a few weeks,so I think the chain was about gone then it caused it to start knocking and then jumped time,I could be wrong,it was also running a little hotter than usual, its also does not crank normal,it sounds like trying to start a engine with no compression, basically a blowed sound

I'll record what it sounds like tomorrow,it's also dumping gas out while trying to start, smells like pure gas
