They came ..... AND ...... the mirrors were too big. With my mirrors on top the Muth mirrors were about 1/8" bigger all around. I was packing them up to resell and I dropped one on the floor. Of course it broke. I wasn't about to send $160 down the drain. I pulled the LED's & their cases off and glued them on the underside of my mirrors. Now I've got my own home-made signal mirrors. They shine a nice brightness, not as bright as the Muth mirrors but definitely visible. They are also impossible to see without the signal turned on, whereas the Muth mirrors have a rippled spot for each LED. Here are my pics below. Took some cutting of the plastic mount but they fit fine and look pretty good!
Well.. turns out I made a little booboo. There are 2 parts to the LED case. One sits on the mirror and has slits so only the LED's shine through and so the LED's don't touch the mirror. The other houses the LED's and covers them. I forgot to add the bottom part so my LED's are blinking with a blur. I'll be fixing this probably next week. I also KILLED my passenger-side mirror. This happened when I first got the mirror, I pulled the glass to try and fit some LED's and when I tried to attach the mount to the mirror motor I cracked part of the glass in half. I didn't worry about it because my new Muth mirrors were on their way! Little did I know Earlier today I managed to crack the mirror in a third spot, so I'm just ordering another off eBay. Once that comes I'll reattach the Muth LED's and they should be almost as good as the Muth mirrors. Keep in mind I tried some cheapo LED arrows and they shined horribly. The Muth LED's must be a real high MCD because they have a very nice shine to them.
Fixed the driver-side. Took 5 minutes max and looks MUCH better. I just noticed the arrows light when I brake. Since I've got them wired to the rear-signals (dual-filament bulb, one brake, one signal) that's why. These are pretty cool!
Thanks. I ordered the passenger mirror. Gonna have nice night time pics when I get it all finished. Maybe it's fate I broke the Muth mirror? I would've just resold them and not had signal mirrors, which is the only reason I bought them.
Alright everybody, the new mirror came and it's all together. It looks VERY GOOD IMO. I actually prefer these over the Muth mirrors now. You can't tell anything's there when not braking or signalling, and when they're on you can easily see them, even in the day! Here are some day pics, I'll have night pics when it gets dark. I'm VERY satisfied with the outcome.
Thanks! Here's a night pic. I can't figure out how to turn the auto IR off on my camera so the IR kicks in for all my dark pics and blurs the light. This is the best I could get.
look very nice ive been thinking of getting a pair for my 2001 ST after the holidays cause i have no money! i thought about getting one of those pairs of led lights on ebay cause my friend had a set that cost him 20$ shipped for 2 red led signal sets and they looked good untill they died like a month later.
