Just Replaced Stock Shocks. 158,000 Miles.

With that said. I have add a leaf in the rear spring packs, and the monroe leveling shocks! Rides great and when I load up the rear with 100's of pounds of tools and equipment, I have no problem at all keeping the truck level.

I did say from the beginning of the thread that the shock mounts are not ment to carry other load except the damping forces from the shocks.
The upper part of the rear shock rests on a thin stamped crossmember in the trunk area:

Do you really think Ford didn't think of that when designing these mounting points? Now if my leafs were completely flat then yes, there's a possibility that something would happen but they are still strong enough to support most of the weight. Guess Monroe didn't think of it either with all their experience during the production of these shocks...I really don't see how this went from a suspension thread to a immigration one. Please keep politics out of this, waste of time.:banghead: Thanks.
