Kids are bad drivers...

For Any one confused on the title of this thread I was refering to the Person that hit us and lack of care this person had for others property.

For the 14 year olds on this site. I am Glad you feel you are a good driver and I know you practice driving a lot. That is good for you cause Driving good comes with Experince. My Sister is 15 and learning how to drive right now. I have been teaching her my self. Is she a bad driver? Right now yes she is. Cause she lacks Experince. This Girl that hit us totaled out her 99 contour, and Hit us with her 2000, sunfire. Now be honest... Do you think this Girl is a bad driver.

Again I did not say YOU are a bad driver. Remember I was a Kid with a new licence a few years back.

Now Please Lets Drop the age issue.

Amen. BUT, I wasnt jsut carrying on about our ages, I was talking about everyone in general, no matter what age, theres just no reason to get ****y and overconfident just because you think your a good driver. I was just clearing up the issue about my age. Now like you said, LETS DROP IT.

Kris, If my bumper wasn't already hosed id "hook you up"!

I'd like to know how any of you underage kids can say "I'm a pretty good driver". Either you drive illegally all the time or you drive with your parents. Is anyone else bothered by this?

Thanks for the offer on the bumper but I am picking up a set of Used Navajo bumpers this weekend. I will most likly use them to repair our Xlt.

I have a friend who managed to go 90, jump the median pull off some 2 or 3 360's and hit the schools saftey officer on the other side of the median. 3 weeks after receiving his licence.

And then theres the kid going 90 through the elementry and middle school, school zone while racing. Just as school let out. Happened about 5 months ago, and despit many snowstorms the 200 or so foot skid marks are still there. Managed to hit a Camrey and roll his car, somehoe managing not to kill anyone.

Theres a lot of bad kid drivers. I'm hoping that my 350 mile trip to beautiful Wyoming, helped. I'm sure that the snowstorm on the way back helped.

Sorry, can't help but jumping in on this one.

My definition of a good driver is somewhat different then some of the posts here. A good driver isn't neccessarily somebody who is not at fault when involved in an accident.

A good driver is somebody that drives in a manner to not get into accidents at all. A good driver is somebody that can avoid an accident when the other guy (or women) screws up.

And there is no need to start a long list of 'Yeah, but my case was different'. I realize, sometimes people get involved in accidents that can't be avoided. But I'm convinced four out of five could probably be avoided if the driver not at fault would really be paying attention and be trained in a defensive (or even a high performance) driving course.

As Clint Eastwood said a long time ago "A man has to know his limitations'. That includes his/her vehicle.

I agree with Peter on this one. When i'm at a stop light i look in my rear view every sec., because i know one of this days someone is not going to stop. It payed off last weekend, because i was driving my girlfriends 99 civic and i was at a stop light, and it was night time. I seen this headlights come up on me quick, but still have time to stop but they didn't slow down, so i drive as far left and close to the car in front of me as i could. He had room to drive in between a speed limit sign and me. If i wouldn't have have moved he would have clipped me and put me in to on coming taffic. THis was a 55mph road too. It scared the hell out of everyone with me and be the way he was drunk. The reason i know that was because i stop at a store to ask him if he was ok, and he said yea and i could smell beer on him. The worst part was that he went in and got more BEER!!

same here ruman, I am paranoid about my clears, even tho I've spent a lot of money to make sure they are visible, recently, (wonderful drivers we have here in augusta.. they pay more attention to their toenails sometimes) I've been stopping a car link behind the car in front of me.. then pulling up when the car behind me comes to a stop, I think its a good thing to do for security, you never know when some woman on the phone may creme you and claim that she hit me because she couldn't see my brake lights (as she looked to the side :P )

Just the other day, my dad was stopped. He was at a yield sign waiting for traffic to clear. It was about 55 at night, and he was on the off ramp for C-470. When a lady in her Jeep Grand Soccer-mom Mobile, smacked him. Isn't just kids that are stupid.

Only some of us are!!!

Us young teens get such a bad rap. Yes, I will admit some teens drive like complete dumb A@#. But other drive with respect, I'm 16 and I own and drive my 94 sport. I have never gotten in an accident (knock on wood. I know it's not saying a lot considering I have only been driving for 1 year) but I'm a safe driver. To tell you the truth of it young girls are the worst drivers of all.

Sorry I am Tired of this...
