V8 swap would be sweet :D Only issue is your D35 TTB which doesn't like a whole lot of torque thrown at it... But that can be saved for another project ;)

We've been itching to try the James duff solid axle swap bolt on kit on a first gen...having said that, the the duff kit, a 5.0 swap would be cake walk as far as fitment

Duffy has a axle swap kit? Hmmmm

I found me a Early Bronco 44 and a 62" Waggy 44 to choose from.

I think I like the Waggy axle better, It is high pinion AND high steer! with needle bearing king pins! Warn military swing lock hubs! sweeeeet axle! (closed knuckle) Found it hang'n under a 67' J20.

Dude knows what he's got, He's ask'n $1,100

A Dana 30 that is trussed and gussetted is damn near as strong as a Dana 44- maybe even stronger in some areas. The Jeep JK Rubicon D44s are nothing but glorified D30s.

Everyone likes to crap on D30s but they can handle 35s and as long as you aren't bouncing off rocks with your right foot planted in the firewall, the D30 will hold up just fine. And if you keep the gear ratio reasonable (like no bigger than 4.56) then the pinion isn't super small.

All good suggestions, and thank you guys.

I just need to decide which plan to go with.

Biggest hold up is space. Really need a house with a proper garage.

Can't do anything till I get out of this condo.

Anything ever happen with this thing??

Sold it if I remember correctly...
