hello everyone, just signed up here today after much reading. just the other day a '92 xlt fell into my hands...shes in poor shape at the moment, blown headgaskets and a bit of rust. I've always been a fan of off road vehicles but never had the chance to do one myself. so after having her towed home and sitting and staring at her for a bit i decided to give her a new life and turn her into the off road machine shes capable of being. i'm gonna do pictures of the whole process...its gonna take some time but it'll be worth it. i'll attept to save as much money i can by doing alot of the work myself with the help of good friends. i'm aiming for a 6" suspension lift and 33x14.5 tires...undecided on which ones specifically...i was thinking of the super swamper trxus sts's since it'll do alot of on road driving. i sure do like the look of the boggers though...maybe i'll get em both and switch em out when i wanna go out on some trails. Alot of people have been asking me why i dont just buy a truck thats in better shape since i'm willing to drop alot of money anyways. my answer is simple, i enjoy taking things that look hideous and making them beautiful again. i'm really excited about this project...this site has been a great help espically since this is my first project...i'm sure i'm going to run into some problems here and there, its nice to know i have a place to come to for advice and help. If anyone has any pointers right off the bat i'm all ears. i made my first purchases last night...just little ones to get it all started, hood scoops and replacement rocker panels. i'll start posting photos soon. thanks guys for all the good forum topics.
