When I got my new Explorer (92 4x4) I put on a KKM induction and flowmaster force II catback. Now I have pinging when running anything less than 93. The ping is most noticeable when under a little bit of a load such as going up hill or accelerating without downshifting. I have noticed that during the first few minutes of a trip it doesn't ping, but after the engine is warm it does. I cleaned the MAF sensor and visually checked the vacuum lines. Would insulating around the filter help some, and running a cold air line from under the chassis. I was also thinking about trying some sort of scoop on the hood to get some air flow around the filter if I find that air temp is definitely the problem. Something like this:

Do you think that air temp is the problem, or am I looking at a bigger issue all together.
