This Project is offically on hold... I have to get the Navajo ready for MOAB so... I have my list of junk that I must do to the Navajo before I make the 5 state trek.

New Clutch (old one is starting to slip)
Install and Powder coat Rocksliders
Install new Fuel Pump and filter.

I will keep everyone posted when the project starts back up in the Summer time.

I pulled the oil pan off my 5.0 I got from a 96 Explorer to install a dual sump oil pan. Keep in mind I bought this motor Mileage unknown so I got it for cheap. When I pulled the pan I find the motor Perfectly clean. Like the motor has less then 10K miles on it. I will post pictures of how clean it is as soon as I get my camera back.

Change of Plans

The 4.0 in the explorer is Now running. So the 5.0 is a Future Project later down the line. The project now is to convert the Explorer to 4x4 useing a dana 44 solid Axle. My Goal is to have it completed by Mid july.

The only thing new is I just bought a 4x4 tranny to Swap in to the Explorer. once I have the Transmission side complete I will start installing a dana 44 in the Front.

cool cool. im gonna have to stop by one day when im driving that direction. Id love to see it, as the 2wd lifted truck is my inspiration... Im only 2wd myself... Id say Id love to be some sort of help if you ever need it, but Im the biggest mechanical moron... haha. Hence why I havent ventured into the world of mods yet...

Feel Free to stop by any time. When I take the 2wd lift off I plan to sell it, its a skyjacker 6" lift.

Now that I may be interested in... How much would you be lookin for? And how far in the future is that swap gonna be? Im just at a point where I wanna mod. My ex is my daily driver, but in the fall Im prolly getting another car, and toy with the explorer. Id like to get it into decent shape, mainly for show value. I like the looks people give... I know its shallow & poser like, but oh well... If I want to go mudding, thats what my friends Dodge Ram is gonna be for...
Anyways, Ive thought about a 3 in PA body lift, but then I think to myself, if your gonna put money in it, why not go all the way and do it... Its gonna suck gas either way, so I may as well look into a suspension lift (hence the interest in the skyjacker) Ohwell, its late and Im tired and Im rambling.
I may try to hook up with ya next time I head to Edna. I need to get out there soon, Ive been promising some kids Id come see em... Now I have even more of a reason...
So ya, back to the first paragraph... cost and date of the swap? Later.

You know some people in Edna... Victoria is about 30 miles away and My Grandparents live there. The Lift might not be coming off till about the End of July but who knows it could be sooner. I am Not sure on a price for the lift. There will be a few things you should buy to go with it, Drop pitman Arm, and maybe new Rear shocks(rubbed from Sway bar).

Yeah, I actually have family in in Beeville, and I know some kids (teens) in Edna bc I was a leader at a church retreat with them. I met their youth minister through my boss, and went down for the retreat to be a group leader...
So Ive had my fair share of trips through Victoria, mainly heading to Beeville to see aunts, uncles, and cousins... course I havent been to see them in about 2 years, but thats what makes me think a trip is due soon.
End of July... not a problem. In fact if you wanna take longer feel free. Haha, Im on a smaller income this summer, due to my work situation. But Im already saving... (thats why a ballpark figure on the cost was somethin im interested in) Anways, keep it real, Im out to go prepare to teach this sunday morning's lesson...

I think I am Going to have Texas Auto Gear in Houston,Tx install my Dana 44. I was impressed with the Job they did on Randall's Explorer. But I do have plans to get some of the prep work done my self such as building my Dana 44 hub to hub myself. Doing a spring over in the Rear with a set of OME rear leafs. Later on I plan to install a Quarter eliptic rear springs for more flex.

some Photos. Nothing really new yet. Still buying parts.
