Saw this beast at the Mall while buying new pants. Crappy cell phone pictures.

whats so special about it? yes it is a stock landrover, with a couple lights on it too

Sorry never really seen one...i have no clue what that is doing in the city tho...looks like it should be out in some mountains. not in baltimore city of all places.

There is a big Land rover club here in Chicago. I see atleast 1 or 2 of those a week and they do look out of place in the city/burbs. some of the one around here are modded to the hilt, but most are like that one with just some lights and such mounted.

Next time park your tire on his hood then take the picture :)

We recently had a Mercedes "land cruiser" type deals come into our shop for some fuel line problems. It looked exactly like that except red and well; Mercedes emblems! The truck itself cost in excess of 100 grand. We have to get all the parts from New Mexico and NOTHING is cheap. The rear end is rusted to **** (inside as well) and a used rear end cost around 8 thousand. Not exactly a cheap truck! Had 4.88:1 gear ratios in it though. Still a piece of heep anyway!

yup thats the mercedes G wagen... they are pretty nice and distinguishable... but mercedes decided to make them look almost like the new m series suvs...... so now other than costing tons more, they look the same... whats the point of the high end one if it doenst have the bling factor?!

So it'll rust? I was looking down the rear end with the axles pulled out and it had rust hanging down (looked like salagtite and that salagmite stuff that you learn in science class about caves). When I saw the rust - I knew that rear end was worthless and it won't ever be cleaned out!

Your awful spelling is hilarious :p

Those old Land Rovers aren't too rare. Offcamber Crawlers out of Washington, DC has a few members with them and other Land Rovers.

Isnt that a Defender 90?

My next car will be a G Wagon. They arent over 100k.. Last I looked, it was around 88k.

Well I looked up a picture on yahoo and the G Wagon is correct for what I'm talking about - but it's the older one (like 80s) - this is what it kind of looks like: (without little camper crap on top)

The Landies are nice, but would look a bit out of place at the mall. The Gelaendewagen (and yes it's spelled like that :) ) is even better, and I wish I could afford that nice of a stock vehicle. I saw a tv show where they tested on out, and they beat that thing until I thought it was going to fall apart, and they drove it in to the park, and back out with no damage, other than sheet metal. They were hitting near basketball sized rocks scattered about, and you could hear them hitting the bottom, but everything looked fine after they threw it on the lift.
