Late 80s B2000 Advice

Is it an internal hydraulic slave? Or is it an external that a piston pushes a rod? Or does it have a cable? Every other person that went to high school with me had one of these trucks buy I never got to wrench on one.
I have no idea, I'll be back at her in the morning so I'll take a look!

The reason I ask about the transmission is, if it was me I'd strap a board to the rear tire. Out in the open it would be easy to get 3 people lifting on a 2x6 that's 10 feet long. The transmission would also provide torque multiplication.

The truck or the resulting kid cause of the truck?

Maybe, that sucker weighs more than we though, sucker was a pain going up those ramps! Even with three of us lifting and pushing

Could I combine the oil with the atf and acetone fine? Not sure how well they'll go together, but I got atf readily available so I could throw a lil' on in the morning if so

SHouldn't be a problem mixing the atf acetone with the Marvels oil that is already there.

It's actually 10w40 in it right now, need to get the marvel stuff, all I had on hand that I knew would help some was the 10w40 he sent with the truck. But either way good to know, appreciate in, I'll add some in the morning then!

+1 for ATF acetone it works miracles even used to get a siezed motorcycle piston moving once MMO is good too

I got the 10w40 still on, added some atf and acetone too, even within 10 minutes was cleaning it decently well, so hopefully!

Well, first upgrade, damn beeper is gone, sucker was so annoying and DOES...NOT...STOP...
But also enjoy some more pictures, I did hook the rado up to its cables just to test some of the basic things like lights and as ya saw beeper works. Headlights work, dull but work, blinkers dont, all seem burnt the one driver rear one. But the horn works too, and I think yall can guess, based on the horn, what name the truck has earned I think!

Those pistons are nice and orange. Send that motor on it's way and let's get a V8 in there

Also, @Josh P , I forgot to look, but based on what I can find, it should be an external slave.

The pistons and the cylinders actually don't look too bad, especially compared to others I've seen. That and even after just a night and rocking the truck, I think I saw the rear cylinder move at the very least, maybe...so I think it's still got hope! But yeah, I've got some LT1 350s saved off for cheap, and even a supped up 305 for cheap saved

Under the fluid, it actually does appear to look good, cylinder walls look nice, but a 302, 305 or 350 would look better. Once the motor does free spin, check the cylinder walls for pitting where the rings were sitting.

Will do! And yeah, they definitely would look better and perform better, but for the sake of the prior owner, I do want them to hear it run again, they'd been trying and had no luck. They really wanted it to run whether they kept it or not, so I want to give them that, plus an engine swap will complicate things more than it already is learning a new vehicle lol

SUHWEET BRUDDAH!

Well I was an idiot and forgot I had my chalks on hand which made me look stupid for a while, but the winch made life so easy. Back on the trailer and she'll be going into storage tonight, also going to clean it up and try freeing the pistons tonight

Well, here she sits for a bit, may move her to the other side since that's probably the smarter move, but oh well, was a pain getting her in and I'm done for the night. Now to find what I did with my 4lb and get busy tomorrow night

Okay, well, no luck breaking it loose. Used the end of my rubber mallet on top of each piston, whacked 'em good with a 5lb dead blow aaaannnd....nothing...breaker bar doesn't help either. So I've got her soaking in atf and acetone again, along with the breaker bar still on the crank with some oil cans on the end for weight, so hopefully after a few days to a week like that, it'll move. If not, I've also heard that diesel fuel on top of the pistons can help too
