It started sounding like a wheel bearing was having problems, usual symptoms. I figured it was either that or a warped rotor. Since all the rotors were replaced last July the odds of it being that were pretty slim.

Took it to my mechanic today and the left front wheel bearing is shot. No cheap task to replace from what I understand. BUT, better that expense than having the wheel fall off on the interstate.

You can replace the wheel bearing your self pretty easy. May want to check out A1 auto the one EF Vendor if you can wait on shipping.

Thanks for the response, but there is no way I'm going to tackle that LOL. I'm old with a bad back, there are things I'd just as well pay someone else to do. The guy that's doing the work has done all my drive train and engine work, I trust him to be honest with me and to make sure it's safe when we head up to the mountains.

Lol ok, well that's a plus if you have a guy you trust.

You might want to consider replacing both wheel bearings.

Both sides have rolled the same mileage, been through the same mud puddles... It's only a matter of time.

X2!

Keep the one that is still working for a trail spare.

Naaaaaa

If he's not going to fix it in a controlled environment he's sure not going to fix it on the trail...lol

Can the old bearings!
