First of all I want to thank RoadBully for making my X look like a piece of ****. Second, I don't think we have a lifted Gen 3 thread so I am putting my pics here. I decided to go with the Quick Lift kit on the front and replace the rear shocks with standard Ranchos. The ride is improved and I really like the leveled look even more than I thought I would. Now the fun begins as I decide what to do next. Any Ideas?

Looks good man
For suggestions... I'd haveto say Rims and tires.
depends on what kinda budget you're working with too thought I guess... simple accessories, bug deflector, vent visors... though you might like the clean look instead.
Push bar?

Cheers

Ben.

I like the tires I have now. They handle off-road well but are excellent on the street. I was thinking about new rims. I am a little confused on the exact offsets and bolt patterns to use. I would like rims that could handle bigger tires when these wear out.

I am still looking for a Bull bar or Brush Guard I like. Maybe something like thishttp://www.4wheelparts.com/Bumpers-Side-Steps/Euroguard.aspx?t_c=64&t_s=268&t_pt=3206&t_pl=2339&t_pn=GSP80228
I actually thought about designing my own. I just need to find someone with a good metal shop.

I do like the clean look because I think it looks more off-road. Unfortunately, I wish I could hide some of the frame that shows.

I like that because it follows the lines of the vehicle. Can you tell if it blocks the tow hooks? I want those available if I need to pull someone else out (I don't plan on getting stuck);).

Judging by the picture, I'd say that it does not allow for tow hooks.. not positive though.

Bigapple-That was my way of saying that I think RoadBully's truck is sick looking. I like the look of mine. I am just glad his isn't parked next to mine. I would want to start over with the coil springs and more aggressive tires. I am thinking of coping his rims, though. Unfortunately I would have to stop posting here if I did that;).

HAHA, no worries, I don't own the "rights" on the rims, if ya like em I say go for it .
Thanks for the comments, I'm glad you like my X.

You mean I can join the Dick Cepek fan club.:D

Seriously, I looked at a lot of rims last night and of the ones that fit my explorer I like the looks of them the best. I am a little concerned that while driving on trails that a rock could brake the rim if you hit it just right. Also, how wide is standard rim? Would my tires(265/75R16) handle an 8in rim? RoadBully, I don't know how to read backspacing, offset, and hubcentrid, but guessing that it would give a wider stance.

Here is a link to those rims for those who don't know the specks.http://www.4wheelparts.com/Wheels/Dick-Cepek-DC-1-Black.aspx?t_c=11&t_s=210&t_pt=100044&t_pl=5429&t_pn=M%2fT968421

Yup, those are the exact ones I've got.
They do give a wider stance, They are also a bit wider than stock. Not sure if our stock ones were 7 or 7.5" wide, but the dc-1's that you're looking at are 8.
They should take your tire just fine.
-12mm offset means that where they mount to the vehicle is 12mm's off of center of the rim, towards the inside of the vehicle.
The 4 inch backspacing means that there is 4 inches from the inside lip of the rim (closest the the engine bay) to the mounting point of the rim.

Hope that helps

Thanks for the help. I do like the idea of the wider stance, little better stability. Do your tires throw mud all over the vehicle. Mine do already but I have no fenders or flaps to stop it. Looks good that way anyway.

Haha, no worries guys, I knew what he meant, nobody was offended, nobody did anything wrong ;)
Keep lift'n those explorers :D

Yeah, big time... actually those tires clean themselves out in no time.

I hit a mud hole on the back site of my 4wd retailer, and by the time I was 20 feet down the road, they were already completely clear of mud.
A hell of alot on the road though. :p:

Well, I'm officially on my way to becoming a RoadBully clone. I ordered those rims today. I will be getting them installed next week. Now all I have to do is to figure out were to put the spare. I am still torn between a rack on top or something on the back.

I'm limited height wise, because I park underground at work. So on the rear of the truck is my only option, and to be honest , it's the one I like best anyway.
I'll make sure to fire up some photos when I get it done in the next couple weeks.

haha.. you don't mind if I call you MiniMe from now on do you? :p:
