So im in need of shackles. Wondering what the max lift i can safely do with a custom pair without putting my driveline in a bind is. I was looking at the warrior ones but i have the material to make my own. Thinking 2inch if its not too much

any shackle that isnt stock height will change the angle of the components in your drivetrain, im running the warrior 153 shackles and ive been lucky so far, but i can tell its starting to take a toll on my leaf springs. it varies from truck to truck. some people have no problems some people have nightmares, it seems like a case to case basis.

The warriors are 1.25 right. Im putting new 4 door leafs in soon so everything will be new

If you are putting new leaf springs in, have you considered just buying the ones with a 2" lift?

Only ones i saw that were lifted were the 4" superlift springs. dont want to go that much right now. Do you have a link for them if they are made.

I run 2" shackles on my 99 5.0. My issue is my drive shaft is fully extended , any time i top out its like smacking the u-joints with a 4lb hammer... you deffenitally want to watch your drive shaft lenth. measure measure measure while your lifting, some set-ups can get away with 2" if you find your self in my position with a fully extended shaft the next step is an extension. I have a junk yard near by that dose it for as little as 50$ and then they balance it too. You just have to have a sence of knowing when its too much for your situation, and don't buy anything you can't return.. right now Im' waiting on getting my shafts done because i have a low miles np 208 sitting in the coner of the shop waiting to get installed. once i get that hemmed up I'll get a cleaner rear shaft, (mine it pretty pitted up) and then get it lenthened I'll also have to get the front cut, and have a normal u-joint yolk welded on rather than the factory c/v, I think after that it'll be over all just a better machine...

I would run those but can do it for half the price.

Ill pull the shaft and see how much slip i have. Pull it out 2 inches then measure. Its a sport so idk if the slip is shorter anyway

I have a sport with 4 door leafs, an AAL and shackles, and I have no issues with the shaft.

Sport...hows the ride with the 4 door packs and aal

I like it. Its more firm and controlled. It was way too mushy before and it hopped around alot, its more poised in the corners now.

i have 4 inch Superlift springs and i made my own 2 inch shackles, and a stock driveshaft, all good

Mine has the driver side leaning. Going over ttain tracks its a little bit too loose, Dips to the driver side prerty hard. Where did u get ur springs

Although a sport trac I haven't seen issues with shackles. I would probably lean towards leafs only because I'm scared of inclination. Once I make the money it's going toward some deaver springs and taller shocks for more travel. Although spending more money then atleast it will be safer in a way.

I picked mine up cheap at an auto salvage place, and threw in the AAL before I installed them.

I would just go with what sport did and get an AAL if you're on a budget

I would have gotten new springs if I had the money, but I think I spent 60 or 70 on the 4 door leaf springs, and 35 on the AAL. New springs are a lot more than that.
