Yeah buddy! Cant wait to install this baby and hit the trails, anyone recommend any diff covers?

Awesome, I've had my eye on the g2 cover. Its pretty cheap compared to other covers, looks good and has a dipstick too. While you're in there give that pumpkin a good cleaning and it might be worthy to replace the carrier pin too. You're gonna love that thing.

Well, I'm pretty jealous right now at all these SAS projects goin down right now! I'll be picking all of your brains ad soon as I'm ready to do my conversion.

I'm working on saving up for lock out hubs, gears, tires and wheels and 6 bolt adapters for the rear. I'll probably custom fabricate the front crossmember and shackle mounts. Gonna take the tires off the axle and check everything out to make a shopping list of things I might need. I may just run the Grand Waggy rims at first until I get different wheels, I'm going aluminum to shed rolling weight mass if I miss out on those 37's and H1 double beadlocks.

I'm hoping to have all of my parts collected by end of summer, early fall and start the build once I have everything needed (short of the front driveshaft) I'll have to wait until after everything is installed to take measurements for the driveshaft. I'll also be building a steel tube bed somewhat like DB1's bed after the SAS.

You have any links to DB1's tubular bed?? I've been gathering parts for my SAS as well. A buddy and i were talking at work the other day, and i was thinking how wild a sport trac would look with a tubular bed on it.

Edit, just found DB's ranger in the offroad section, i'll read up on that.

Solid is pretty good. Ruffstuff and Great Lakes offroad are really strong. I'd stay away from cast. I've seen too many of them crack on the trails.

Wish I had some new pics to post, but we mostly use the jeep during the winter months since its just me and my gf willing to go out in the cold weather. But spring is almost here, daylight savings is less than a week away, and the trac is itching to get back out there so I should have some pretty soon.

I wish I had picture of mine not in a garage lol. Maybe flexed out on a hill or rock or something. I love my car but its just not a truck.

Dave- BlueTorchFab.com sells a weld it yourself diff cover for 60 $ that look pretty cool, if you have the capability to weld it.

After being broken for a week, i got the front steering knuckle and inner and outer tie rods replaced. Decided to take the wife and kids out for a little test drive tonight. Got her a little muddy.

Truck did amazing for having the little tires on it still. I've got a set of 35x12.5x15 bfg km2 on order and should be here with in the next few days...

I've started building the brackets for the SAS, and i'll be picking up my axle on saturday.

Mud is fun but clean it off of all the suspension, steering parts soon or all that work will be done for nothing.

Another SAS in the works!!

Trucks already spotless, my next investment is a new power washer. That was nasty to get cleaned off.

Damn I like the Idea of that! Its cheaper and gives me the satisfaction of having my welds on there. And that is some serious steel on there.

Everyone else is growing up so much faster than me :'(
Finish your education, it'll increase your chances of finding something you actually want to so for a living. Then you'll be able hook that trac up as much as you want.

Slow and steady wins the race shooter! I worked full time, had a career, a mortgage, a serious gf, a night life and went to college all at the same time and made through in one piece. College will open doors, but don't forget that the main ingredient is hustle. You can't teach hustle, so make sure when you guys get out of school, the sense of entitlement doesn't come with you like I've seen it with so many other grads. When you graduate, that's when the hard work actually starts! Hustle hard fellas and don't settle for good enough out of yourself. I'm only 30, and I've worked some cool jobs including the music industry, was a part of two tech start-UPS, one of which was just recently acquired by Nokia and paid me a pretty penny, and I have lived enough life for two people, and I'm just getting started, and I owe it all to having heart and having hustle, so reach for them stars! Ok, I'll get off my box now.
