The bar going horizontal acrossed the rear or the 2 bars going vertical?

Either will do. I removed both as the whole assembly. Patrick took off the endlinks (vertical). Both achieve the same results.

I'm planning on taking the whole assembly out once I get the chance to take the bottom of the shock off. No real need for it driving under 35 everywhere. Just taking the end links off to try it out is really easy though and then you can just put them right back on when you're done and don't have to worry about the shock at all. Either way is really easy though and only takes 10 minutes.

Don't have any lift on my 01 Black ST but plans include a 3" body lift and 33" tires. Want to keep the suspension near stock as it is my daily driver. I have a another truck for show. I don't want to do the torsion lift as every vehicle I have done that on drove like crap compared to stock what about these?

Are you asking how the ST rides with a torsion twist? If so, it rides a little rougher on the road but its not terrible. As long as you don't go more than 2" if you're 4x4. Up travel is hurt a little but I needed it to fit 35s.

to biggreenv10, i'd have to agree with runner. honestly its not all that bad with cranked torsion bars. you can aid the harsh ride with some good, fresh shocks. with that said though you do change up how much down travel you have (which makes for the bad ride quality.) when i had mine twisted, i had absolutely no down travel, but i maxed them out and i'm a 2wd. but there isnt much wheel travel to begin with. maybe 4 inches of travel all together. quite frankly i think you're making a good move wanting to do a body lift, you're letting the suspension cycle the way it needs to and you aren't putting stress on suspension parts. i've never really liked body lifts though just because the idea of lifting a body off of its frame kinda sketches me out. but with as many people that use them i dont think theyre that bad. but anyways i wouldn't rule out the torsion twist. it does give you a bit more lift depending on how high you wanna go and just looks plain mean.

Because the ride of the ST starts out so soft, cranking up the t-bars makes the ride more like a 3/4 ton truck. IMHO it's not harsh at all and you only lose a little flex.

Do you guys put them back on for highway use or just leave them off? So removing the rear sway bar and sway bar links will give you alot more flex when offroading? Is it noticable on the highway w/o it?

We both left them off as we left because it was raining and really muddy. There is a little more roll but because the bed weighs next to nothing it's really not that noticeable. I drove a lot of windy roads back to school and was fine. If you accidentally take a curve way too fast you do notice it though. On the highway with much less turns there's no difference, or at least I couldn't tell any difference.

I drive the Edge when highways are involved so I shouldn't really answer that. No problems coming back on the three hour drive from Gulches though. Actually, it's only really been noticeable around town when I notice needing to slow down more on turns. Not likely that I'll put it back on. I think the stiffer rear from the add a leaf helps too. I'm actually considering adding a second, long add a leaf.

Offroad, yes, lots more flex. That sway bar is puny but hurts you offroad more than you might think. I know I didn't think it'd have much impact but when we ran the same trails disconnected, obstacles that had you banging your head with the sway bars attached suddenly became silly speed bump obstacles.

if youre gonna be driving your rig on the freeway id strongly suggest putting the sway bars back on. you wont really notice what those sway bars are there for until you try to swerve out of the way of something while traveling at a faster speed. if you dont have those sway bars on and you try to swerve out of the way of say something that falls out of the back of a truck, or another vehicle thats lost control, it will be harder to keep the wheel of your rig on the pavement.

Yes. This is the correct and responsible answer. Sorry I didn't include that very important point. Like I said, my truck doesn't see highway miles and rarely gets over 45mph.

I took my EE sway bar off as the bushings were shot. Couldn't find my stock sway bar, so I've been driving for 4 months now with no rear sway bar. This included a 80mph emergency lane change on the freeway last month. I didn't tip over and no problems with handling. I wouldn't try doing it with front removed, but rear no problems.

Well i will at least try it while off roading. Its simple enough to take on and off. I'll have to test it out soon.

It's very simple. Worth the few minutes to disconnect and reconnect afterward.

Maybe at Rausch Creek?

Just moved into my dorm, gotta take advantage of going to A&M Galveston by getting the trac a little dirty.

Yea i've been wanting to go up there. Sux you went back to school already so you're too far away now. There's some little spots around here.

Trip to Johnny park road out of longmont Colorado led to some great views and the hardest trails I've taken. Wish I'd have taken video..lol
