lifting a 97 explorer 4x4 sport. . need HELP

I was told that the only difference bettween a 97 ford explorer 4x4 suspension and a 98 ford ranger was that the torsion brackets were welded on the 97 explorer and bolted to the 98 ranger. IS that true? If it is would a 98 ranger 4 in lift work on my 97 explorer? i would just have to weld them to it right ? PLEASE HELP. . i want my baby lifted lmao !
