Light bar

I was at a 4x4 site tonight, and I saw a chrome light bar that mounts in your water gutter things on the roof. Does anyone know if this will fit with a luggage rack up there too? Im considering getting some lights to stick up there. Also... are there auxilary driving lights that are legal for use on the highway?

nick~ I have a Carr light bar mounted in front of a cargo basket with plenty of room. I'd check to see if your explorer has the gutters, my 94 Explorer XLT does not. I had to buy an additional kit to mount the light bar, which means you would have to screw into the body. I have some pics of it here: Dead Link Removed

If you are going to mount lights on the roof, you can just mount them to the luggage rack/basket. It'll save you a wad of money!
I'm sure there are auxilary driving lights that are legal for road use, i don't know much about them except they need to be mounted below the bumber to be legal.
