Livernois Motorsports 2013 Explorer Sport

We will be posting some updated Dyno pulls once we recieve the final validation exhaust components. At this time we have the stock pull vs. the 93 perfomance tune.

3 questions:

Should it always be assumed that the stock pull is using the lowest octane required for the vehicle (87 in this case)?

Also, are these pulls with *no other modifications* to the vehicle? If any mods, please list (including 170* stat).

Lastly, do you have pulls with the 91 performance tune? As I am from California (as well as many other car enthusiasts), 93 octane is unfortunately not readily available here .

We're just trying to get an accurate feel for what the tune would do for our situation, all things considered. Thanks for any & all info y'all provide!

We always use premium fuel so they were all on 93 octane. These pulls are strictly tune only with no modifications. Also keep in mind these graphs are from our previous tunes which have been improved upon since. 91 octane would only net roughly 5 awhp less. I will post more up to date graphs when available.

Great graphs! Swaying my opinion about tunes!

Curious why all the graphs show a dip at 4.9k? Why? Is it fuel? I would assume Ford had enough time to tune the ecoboost before it hit the market. Why would they leave a huge bobble like that in there?

Also why the initial "run-up" and then level off? Is there an initial overboost condition engineered into the motor/programming?

Thanks for all your work!

The boost drops off as you near the shift point. So you start to drop in power as the boost bleeds off. Eventually the xv1 tune will be released and it keeps boost numbers up all the way to the shift point.

Thank you for the kind words! As another member had stated these vehicles have a factory boost taper before shift points. This is an area that we are going to be able to over come with our Xv1 tune as well.

Can you please address the email I sent about updating my tunes to the ones that don't cut out in the midrange?

Would it be beneficial if I just did a tune from livernois? I have a 14 sport. Kinda like how quiet it is. A sleeper like the GN

If you like going from a mid 14 second truck to a mid 13 second truck with no drawbacks then sure.

Sorry was away from the computer today. I'll get the tune in, thanks.

Not a problem. Happy new year to all you guys as well.

Question, do i need to swap back to the normal weather tune when it warms up?

Thank you. That would be user preference. We prefer the standard and High boost tunes. You could always give them a try and see which you prefer. -Anthony

Our custom tuning for the Explorer Sport would be very beneficial with or with out other modifications. Typical gains of 40-60 wheel horse power, enhanced throttle response, transmission modifications with reduced torque management and modified shift points/firmness, and improved fuel economy just to name a few features and benefits. Here is a link to the device on our website and feel free to contact me if you would like any additional information or to discuss our tuning. http://www.livernoismotorsports.com...Sport-EcoBoost-MyCalibr8or-Tuning-Device.html

Sorry I've never tuned a vehicle but would love to get a bit more out of my 14 Sport.

It's stock- what do I need to do to install the tune?

How do I switch back to stock?

Plug the tuner into your service port, follow the on screen instructions and 5 mins later your tuned. Same in reverse if you want to return to stock. Very easy to do and well worth it.

Is it a good idea to wait a certain amount of the time on a new car (i.e. break-in period) before doing the tune? or should I install it from day 1? Or does it not matter?

I personally waited till the first oil change to make sure they were not any defects that might be blamed on the tune.
