Does someone have any information about the load rating of the stock wheels on the XLT trim?
I already asked my ford dealership but they could not or did not want to help me.

I am looking for that information because in my country I need a load rating certificate in order to mount them on my vehicle.

Thanks.

It’s possibly that information isn’t published since they are intended to go on a specific vehicle.

I found several articles that state the GVWR is 6160 pounds. Ford Explorer Features and Specs
Divide that by 4 gives you 1540 pounds. I would think that would would be the minimum load rating per wheel.

I think it’d be substantially more than that. If you’re fully loaded and hit a pothole you are gonna see considerably more load than that.

“Wheel load rating requirements are determined by dividing the vehicles heaviest gross axle weight rating by 2. The axle weight rating for most vehicles is shown on the identification label located on the driver's side door jamb, gas tank door, truck lid or glove compartment.”

Just checked mine and the rear GVW is 3490. Then that gives you 1745 wheel rating using that formula.

Generally it is stamped or cast into the back side of the wheel. Usually on a spoke but sometimes on the rim edge or in a hollow on the hub area.
