I am considering purchasing a second set of tires, to be used for on road only purposes, witht he intent of conserving my offroad only tires as long as possible. It has to be a tire that is made in 35x1250x15 size. The ones that I am considering include BFG AT/KO's, MT Baja-MTX, Pro-Comp AT, and General Tire AP. Any opinions out there on what the best and longest lasting All Terrain tire on the market is?

Go w/ BFG's

The MT Baja's are only good for around 25K , they look good but wear poor . J M 2pesos

We now have 50k miles on this set of BFG AT-KO's that we put on around 6/2000 and they look like they have another 10k or so left in them. Most of this is highway with about 10% off-road (ok.. maybe less since we don't drive that far when off-road)..

These are 32"x11.50 tires.. AND we have a Detroit Locker in the rear which doesn't help the tires much..

i say the grabber ap..... he wants a ROAD ONLY tire......

the general grabbers ap i had were great on the street....but did crap in the mud.....

I've had 4 sets of BFG AT's on various trucks and got at least 45k per set.

Get BFG A/Ts... I've had mine for 35K and am just now starting to notice wear on them. It's been all road driving since I need to replace my automatic hubs with manuals to get 4x4 to work again. Definitely a great tire.

I only know the BFG AT from my own experience (and MT, but they don't count here) therefore I can't really compare. But I do can recommend them a lot.

A very good on-road tire with long life expectations are all the Michelins. (not my own but my buddies experience)

40-50 with good tread. 50-60 if you behave.
ive had 2 sets. 31s and now 32s. so i have no idea about 35s but im sure that they will be pretty close to the same.

with a screen name like mudd***** i just assumed you would behave:p

Randall,
My .02 - I know it's late, but hey - someone else could use it...

Michelin LTX - I got 65k and then sold them for 40 each - probably could've gotten another 20 out of them...

how much tread you got left on those? i couldnt imagine my last set of BFGs to last that long. i hope my current ones do....actually i dont i wish they would wear out now then i can go get my 33's that i want.

BUCHVILLEMAN -

Here's a picture I just took with the current mileage, the mileage at installation and the tire itself.

I mainly do all freeway miles with a romp in the mud and dirt once and a while.

WOW....
i had 31s a while back and i got 60k out of them. they oooked like yours now at 40k. i used to drive onthe beach at nags head NC alot and it was a half mile on pavement at 15lbs that burnt them up quick in my opinion. i do love them though.
thanks for all the effort.

Since Michelin LTX A/T are not listed in the poll, I voted other.

I've got 133k on my original Firsetone spare. Guess I better get it to the dealer pretty quick before they stop replacing them.
