I was reading on how cleaning my MAS could help improve MPG and so i said what the hell ill do it. I went to pop my hood and to my suprise i see the screws but one is filled up with black stuff. WtF? Its rock hard too so i cant even get it off. Is it supposed to b like this? I went to discount auto parts and they didnt even sell the tool to get it off so they didnt even give ne advice. Anyone think they can help? also where can i buy this tool? thanks

god F geocities, if u copy and paste the link into a new window it works, where can i store and post pics at?

I seen your pic.Is there and way to pick that stuff out?Maybe with a scrawl. You could use a cordless drill and a small bit to break it up

so i take it it wasnt supposed to come like that? lol that sucks i dunno what to do now i dont wanna mess nething up but i reall wanna clean it

just take the tube off and spray at it. It shoulf be almost as effective.

what do u mean jus take the tube off? is there any way to take out the whole mas housing or u mean the top of the airbox and shoot in?

It is supposed to be like that, it is a security screw. You should be able to clean the sensor by removing removing the whole MAF, tube and all.

alrite thanks guys, why is it a security screw, people try to steal it or somethin? lol

Its something stupid Ford does to make you bring it back to the dealer. You can get the sockets to take that off for cheap at Farm & Fleet:D

I used my dremmel to create "slots" for a screwdriver. Worked perfectly!

I just chipped it out with a small fine centre punch. Once I had the screw out I just burnt the rest out with a blow torch.

I seen a guy

I seen a guy do it with a pocket knife

i jus did was hank3rd did, good ass idea man
