Looking to buy a 2006 explorer. Info needed

So it's been a long time since I have been on here. Use to own a 2001. Looking to buy a 2006. The one I'm looking at has 88k miles on it. What should I be checking for? What's some common problems? I know the earlier explorers had tranny issues with the v6 did they fix that in the newer ones?

Any and all info is appreciated.

hey i have an 06 ex ive had it since 2010 i bought it with 52,000 miles runs mint. i havent had one problem yet! (knock on wood) ever since I've had it i have made modifications like put a lift in it My before and after. but i love it you should buy it! if it is at a reasonable price

Here is my 07 Eddie bauer. Not much different than an 06. Bought it April 2012 with 74,000 miles and now has 91,000. No issues at all. There have been alot of people complaining about the radiators on these, but no problems with mine yet. And get the Eddie Bauer with the preferred leather with suede inserts. By far the nicest seats I have ever seen in an Explorer.

The lift is 3" front 2" rear with 265/75/16 hankook dynapro MT I wanted to go bigger tire but there would be slots of rub right now I have none my next tire I will go bigger tho

For a moment, I thought you had a picture of my truck (the top one). Are both pictures the same truck? What did you do with your original wheels? Mine look like they sat in acid for day or two.

Oh, and what kit did you use for the lift. I'm just looking to level her out.

Yes it's the same rig I lifted her and gave her bigger rubber also I plasti dipped my wheels chec it out! A great product and it peels right off if you don't want it anymore

Oh, I looked at the TRUXXX website and I only saw a 2.5" kit for the 4th gen Explorers.

Yea that's what it is but when it comes in the box the box says its 3" front 2" rear
