So, I went over the speed bump that is literally in front of my house, and there was a loud clunk and the whole truck jerked. I park the truck and get out to see whats wrong. This is what I see.....

So, I looked at the other side and realized that the top of the bolt had broken off, luckly (since it was in front of my house) I was able to find the broken piece.....

I am not exactly sure on what the technical term for this part is, but it seems like a relatively easy fix. I just need to know where I can get a replacement. I could be wrong, so any help that you can offer is greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance guys!

so i just need a new sway bar assembly? Looks like its going to be about $15 per side from autozone. I am guessing I should replace both sides? Anything special I need to be aware of?

Yea, replace both left and right. and get the ones from moog that have poly bushings, they last longer. they are the ones with the red bushings.

Any idea of the price of the moog ones?? The price of the duralast is about 15$ per side and they have blue bushings

Anything special I need to do when replacing these? Think it would be ok to drive the truck to a better spot to do the work??

as long as the end link on the other side isn't broken it will be fine to drive. all you need are 2 ratchets with one deep well socket and a regular socket, or a box wrench.

Should I jack up the front and take the tire off while I am replacing it?

No the easiest way to do it is to leave the car on the ground, when you jack it up the swaybar will twist and make the job impossible

OK, sounds good. Thanks for all the Help I really appreciate it!

OK.... Update!
Went to get the Moog's, none in stock. Had to go to autozone and get duralast. After a ton of cussin and spittin I got the broken side off and replaced! The problem is.... the side that didnt break is near impossible to budge!!!!! I think the side that broke wasnt that bad because it caused the sway bar to "move" out of the way a bit, which translated to a bit of a pain in the ass getting the new one bolted on!! But the side that did not break is holding steady!! I was able to get the bottom bushing off, but then could not make any progress from there!!!!

HELP!

Anything??

Help!

So just cut all the bushings? Of course being careful not to damage any surfaces around the offending factory jammed in so tight you cant possibly ever get it the hell out piece? haha

A little worried about the amount of wd40 I sprayed on the thing haha sparks might be fun!

Hopefully by tomorrow it will be washed off a bit, think we are gettin some rain tonight haha

Will be heading out to combat the damn link again around noon. I will update sometime there after!

when rusted, those are a major PITA to remove.
even after I left mine soaking in PB Blaster for DAYS, I still had a helluva time.

it sounds like you're at the point where cutting it would be easiest.

oh, and WD40 is not that flammable, so no real need to worry about flames coming from it.
