I've been trying to decide whick cat-back system to buy and am looking at both Gibson and Flowmaster. I am not looking to increase cab noise, but I do want to hear it when I am outside the truck or the windows are down. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions to these two products?

I know that Gibson exhaust is designed specifically for the Explorer (new muffler, pipes, and tail pipe). It sounds deeper than the Flowmaster with single side exhaust. The Flowmaster (Series 40/50) has a more rapsy, crispier sound.

Both will give you a distinct sound at start up, throttle, acceleration, and cruising.
I have had the Gibson system on for about three years now and have been very pleased with both performance, sound, and increased gas mileage.

kvo

what difference, if any did the exhaust make to the interior sound level? Thanks

Eric

If you are concern about the interior noise, get the Flowmaster Dead Link Removed. You will only hear it when you accelerate, mellow sound while cruising with the radio on, you won't even hear it. I love the sound when the gear shifts uphill. Brooooooommmmmmmmm Dead Link Removed
