I recently traded my 2.0T Fusion Ford a 14 Explorer Sport and I noticed a piece missing under the front bumper. I remember seeing a channel that hooks up to the front bumper on a few I test drove but the one I purchased is missing.

Anyone by chance have a part number or know of where to get this piece I’m missing?

That's a good question. On non-turbo Explorers, it seems to direct the air to the area of the PTU and transmission. I've seen posts saying that on those with the turbo, it helps to cool the rear turbo. I think I'd go with the PTU cooling.

What's the cutout for on the passenger side of the black lower grill trim? I though it was weird that it was only on one side, which made it asymmetrical when looking at the car from the front, but never really thought much about it. That lower black trim had to be replaced when my wife hit a rock. The replacement does not have that cutout, and I like the symmetrical look better. But why was it there in the first place? If it supposed to be there, should I be concerned that the replacement part doesn't have it?
And where did you purchased the replacement? I don’t like how mine looks with the hole there :/

Its for the ptu. The SHO belly pan has a duct imprint that is supposed to move air towards the PTU as well. Surprisingly on my Fusion Sport it doesn't have anything to direct air to the PTU. It does have a PTU cooler and I can log the transfer case fluid temp. When ect and tft are fully wamred up at 205F the ptu is 168 to 170F. Definitely won't overheat the synthetic gear oil.

Welcome to the Forum.
The member you quoted hasn't been seen here since November 1, 2018 so I doubt you'll receive an answer for him.
BTW, you really don't want to get rid of that opening. It is for the air duct which is directly behind it and plays an important part in the cooling of the PTU.
Seeing as how generaltso has a Limited, he must also have the towing package as you do and that is the reason for the cut-out.
