Im sorry for the language but goddamnit that is my new favorite 3rd gen. I want one so bad now! That looks amazing man

Yes the quick nuts secure the valence and fog light bezels from the factory and im almost positive they are called quick nuts. They are just thin metal nuts that screw onto the plastic studs on the valence and bezel. Pretty sure the valence uses the same quick nuts as the foglight bezel so you could just take one off and take it to the auto part store. I think I started with 150 and ended with 2000 or 3000, just depends how smooth you want them.

awesome ok, I guess I ll have to go out and buy some sandpaper then.

Can you tell me exactly what sand papers did you use in the process? I will just buy whatever you used :)

And I guess I will be buying some quick nuts as well, would autozone have them? or I would have a better luck at home depot?

Perfect stance. If I had a 3rd gen, this is what I'd do to it. Nice work.
Thanks, I worked my way up to this point. It is very pleasing!

Sweet looking 3rd Gen !! I cannot wait to do that to mine. How does it ride lowered with 22's? I was looking into 20's because I figured the ride would be a little better.

it looks sick with the rims and drop !

still in love with the front end lol... possibly by next month i will have the black head light housings with the matching black corners...

actually it rides as good as the stockers. I drove it on stockers night before I put on 22s and I dont see any difference.

Thanks man, I am not done with front end as I want to paint the valence black and the bezels too.

Also I am working on collecting some parts such as retrofits, rings, etc. so I can attempt to make 3rd gen projector headlights. I think I can pull it off but give me some time. I need to recoup all of the cash I just spent on my explorer during the week. Actually I m still shelling out some more as tomorrow I am going to get the exhaust done lol.

did you say u got different struts?

from what i know there is no lowering struts or shocks made for 3rd gen explorers. not sure if running different struts would make any difference.

Jarvis,
Not into "lowered" SUV's, but yours looks incredible!! Nothing classier in my opinion than clean silver with black accents. Really nice work, where did you get that grille? It is the nicest aftermarket grille on any Explorer I have ever seen. As others have said, I want a 3rd gen now exactly like yours. I opened this thread waiting to read a bunch of sarcastic comments like "lift it" etc, I have to say, this one of one of the nicest and cleanest explorers I have seen. And x2 on the post about a PITA job always makes you appreciated it even more when its done. I am not joking when I say I spent 2 days with a good friend aligning front & rear bumpers/making brackets, making sure ebrake and spare tire worked and was accessible etc etc etc after the body lift. Now when I see body lifts with the bumpers all crooked, ****ed, slanted, etc it brings a smile to my face that the work was worth it. But I digress here, I am trying to say your hard work, time, effort makes for a Standout Ex!!

thanks man, I appreciate your comments. I admit, every time I step out and see my explorer, I fall in love all over again lol.

BTW, "classy, simple, clean" is what I am going for.

The grilles are from anywhere, I got them as brushed aluminum, I sent them to Jon and had him powder coat them mirror black. They are street scene speed grille.

Thanks again :)
