Hello all. I`m new to the group. I posted a thread in the new member forum and got a great response from Draft. I would like to have some other comments on the following. I was looking at the universal 1" lowering block kit at pep boys and also found a universal kit available from summit racing. The only problem is that after vewing the specs of the summit kit as well as others the u bolts seem to be this magic number of 3" in diameter. The axle diameter of my explorer appears to be about 3-3/8". Can anyone confirm this and share their experience with installing the universal kit. I was looking at the EE lowering kit but the price is impressive for the parts that you receive. I found a Napa store that sells the camber washers for $20 per side. Thanks to all. :)

Most people use the universal blocks. You just have to fight with the ubolts a little bit to squeeze them in the shock plate. It's not too tough with 1" blocks but with the 3" blocks I put in, it was not an easy task.
