I have a 96 Sport with a 5 speed Manual Trans. I'd like to switch to synthetic fluid for better shifting performance and longer life. When i went to the local speed shop, they said it took AUTOMATIC trans fluid, not manual.

So what kind of fluid does it take? I'd like to run Redline stuff.

Thanks!

Your manual does indeed take ATF. The fluid you use should be MERCON compatible ATF Fluid

So what type of Redline should it be?
Thanks

Couldn't tell ya. I don't use Redline in my vehicle. I will probably be going to some sort of synthetic when it is time to change my tranny fluid though.

Give AMSOIL ATF a try.
