IS it possible to manually roll up the driverside electric window on a 94 XLT?

For reasons I would rather not mention ( Money ) I have no wiring harness in my truck and can not provide voltage to the Electric Window. The driverside window was down when the Brainless Duo at "Morons-R-Us" pulled the motor tranny and any type of wiring that may have been close to the motor.

Can I run 12 VDC from a 6 amp battery charger to the motor without burning anything up? Would like to roll the window up so I can wash the truck and leave it in the drive way for a few days now.

Thanks Rob

Rob, we roll windows up all the time with a jump box or even the battery charger.

Do you have some leads? We have made some you just touch it quick to see which way the window is going. If it is going down, you just change the wires around.
We haven't had any trouble doing it and like I said we do a lot.

Great News...

Perry, I have nothing but a battery charger.

Do you just use some thick gauge wire? Anything I should watch out for?

I'll pull the door panel tonight and try it.

Thanks Perry.

A battery charger will work fine.

Yes there is a couple things to watch out for. Make sure not to get your head in the window while you are rolling it up.
The two pins are really close so try and use something small so your wires won't touch.

We just use wire that we got off a old wiring harness so I don't think it has be be really heavy. What we use for the ends is two nails with gator clips.

It will spark and you will jump, but it doesn't hurt anything.

Sorry Gerald, but I haven't done it. I just know it can be done. Most of the time when we are moving the window up or down it is off the vehicle and laying on it's side. I have gotten my hand in the way before when it is coming down and the door is on it's side but that's it.

at leat it wasnt herculiner :)

i unintentionally rolled up the window on the neck of my buddy's little Basenji pup on the way to the dog park one day, but she shook it off. my Australian Sheppard/Border Collie mix has enough sense to keep all her parts inside the vehicle.

my dog too...she is an aussie....red tri...
