Removing the entire housing of the dome light is the most simple way to change the bulb however the lens does fold down. Getting the bulb in the correct place is a different story when you can't get to it because of the soil layer does it has as a reflector. Attached are some photos of how to make it very very simple to install a bulb if you have the correct tools. That tool is a screwdriver and a t10 star bit. You remove the entire housing when you turn it over you will see four screws that are Star bits they are t 10s remove that and you can easily get to your bulb without removing the foil and breaking mini parts. You can also do a thorough cleaning of the foil to ensure that your bulbs are as bright as they can be.

I like any of the zevo Sylvania they have super bright and led numbers 6411 which are the factory 578. However be careful not to break where the screws go back in because I did so and you may have to squeeze the metal prongs together whereas the LED and are smaller than the factory so squeeze them together and they will lock in tightly. these are the factory bulbs that I have in the pack they do not look like that but always keep the factory equipment for backup. If that particular part still works obviously. I hope this helps you

Thank you, good information. I swapped mine to LED years ago, but used a warm white and have never been satisfied with the light output.

I'll take some pictures of mine and that way you can see the lighting in it. I was able to cry the cover off of the side mirror as well. The one they call the puddle light. Now I was only able to get the driver side because I think I broke it. Kind of shaking my head on that but I do think I can get the other one off without breaking it. I think. but I'll post some pictures on here about the lighting you will be pleased.
