Somethin in that ceramicoat stuff stings when you get it on ya.

Well if it stings I can only say one thing...

DON'T TOUCH YOUR HOOTUS!!

It's a really, really good thing I read that BEFORE taking the drink of pepsi.

Where did you get the EGR bung? Did you just cut it off the OEM ones?

Ryan

Yep

the way the factory maniFAILs are designed puts the fitting about 2" closer to the intake but I'm hoping the hose will reach.

I have a wrecking yard near me that has a broken EGR hose from a `97 X in it.

I am going to grab it next time I'm there, and weld in a section for the relocated EGR bung. I am also going to make it long enough to compensate for the New Valve Covers and 1" spacer I am going to be adding.

Ryan

Well my obdII scan-a-majig came in the mail but I need a new truck to test it on.

Maybe I'll ask my neighbor.

Sweet. My new scan a majig works like a charm on
my neighbors f150.

Well spent 20$

Soon we will be done.

Updates?!?!?!

Ryan

Luckily I have a three day weekend.

So even if I have to cross hell and high water this thing will be running by Monday.

Edit: NOT

This is the hardest I've ever had to look for parts to any car I've owned.

What's that? Water pump bolts? Oh no sir none in stock.

Pardon? Intake bolts. Haha sounds like a roadtrip to Dearborn is in your future!

Camshaft synchronizer and tool!?!? Aaahhhahahahaha NEXT!!

Freakin pathetic.

Well body lift it is I guess.

I'm just having too many problems from the angle of the drivetrain.

Think I'll go with 2"

What problems are you having?

Transfercase?

Ryan

well I got the engine and trans bolted together. Easier than the a4ld was too remove.

The Drivetrain is Up against the floor and still at too far and angle towards the rear and my oil pan is against that damned axle bracket.

I see no other option. Even though I dislike the gaps left by BLs.

Transfer case isn't even on yet.

Didn't you 'massage' the pan for the Passenger side TTB Axle Bracket?

I have a spare frame here @ the house (doesn't EVERYONE?) that is from a 4x4, and I had to remove the bracket before I test fit my Engine and engine placement.

Ryan

I did when i first set the engine but now with the trans on it sits at a much larger angle than I thought it would so I would have to masage the pan in about 3/4" in to make it work.

hmm sas the truck and eliminate that ttb beam lol

have you given any thought as to what you going to do with the vss since your setup used to be all 2wd?

is your ecu from a 2wd? can you stickthe vss somewheres before the tcase

what will happen in lowrange when it cant match road speed to the gear/rpm

VSS goes into the t case
the 5.0L computer wont care if he's in low range

ball pine hammer for your oil pan
sledge hammer for the firewall lip and drivers/passenger floorboard, seriously move that sucker 3"

I have a 88 BII with a body mount reduction, thats right the urethane body mounts I have lowered the body to the frame........I still clear all this stuff and I have an early james Duff axle pivot bracket that is CAST (thick SOB)

You can make it work! consider raising the engine just a bit (spacer on top of L&L mount) to help the trans clear and the oil pan / ttb bracket
TM headers were a lifesaver
IU ditched the exhaust heat shields on the passenger side, they just rattled anyways
my floorboards and firewall were punished to fit this in there, nothing carpet wont hide LOL

I also had to add about 1/2"-3/4" to the height of my trans mount, but then you have to remove the t case to get my trans mount off LOL its like a jigsaw

next I plan to go atlas II or 4406 manual....that should be fun!

My rear driveshaft and pinion angle are semi extreme, but nothing the u joint cant handle, and even with 35's and at 75 mph, vibrations are minimal :)

Make sure to get your t-case on before you start finalizing mounts! If you don't do a body lift, you will also have to clearance the floor around the t-case. I'm sure it is possible to do it without a body lift but you will for sure have some more BFHing to do.
