Max Tire Size for 16x9

Can someone please help me with figuring out the maximum tire size that can fit on a 16x9 wheel. My buddy is looking to put a tire size around a 35" on his F250, but apparently they don't make a 35 for a 16x9 wheel. Any adivce would be appreciated.

They make 35" for a 16" rim. You just have to use a metric size tire. For example BFG A/T 315/75/16 is 34.6" dia. 12.4" wide and fits 8"-10" wide rims.
