Mechanical or Electrical Guages...Which is better??

Are any of the two more accurate or reliable. I have mechanical guages for my oil pressure (tubing) and oil/water temp guage (capillary tube). Is it worth the trouble with all the tubes or should I just go buy electrical ones and run wires?

I use mechanical and electrical.
They are both accurate assuming you buy good gages (Autometer
Mechanical are so simple and relaible for things like oil pressure and coolant temp.
However you can also use electrical gages for fluid tempatures (coolant, oil, trans, etc) and run some of them to the factory wires.
On my truck I have both the factory coolant temp sensor and a mechanical coolant temp gage. I have the factory low oil and oil pressure loss dummy light (1988 B II didnt have oil pressure gage) and a mechanical oil pressure gage.
This setup worls well but on some engines it requires a T fitting, a new port, or some way to attach both sensors.

I am going to set up a perma cool dual remote kit. Can I mount my pressure sender in one of its normally plugged holes next one of the filters? Should I instead go down to the idiot light with a T-fitting?

i gots a mechanical oil pressure gauge (cheapy but it works) and it works great, only thing about it i dont like is when it gets really cold here i worry about the tubing cracking and spilling oil everywhere. Hasent happened yet (knock on wood?)

Yeah mine came came with that tube also, but i found online copper tube for like $8 72" of it. I might use that.
