My truck is having an issue with the power.
My truck starts fine but the power drops and then surges back up then drops again, often stalling. If I apply the gas quickly while it is doing this then let off the truck will stall as well.
If I apply the gas pedal the issue goes away as long as I am keeping some gas flowing. Or if I have been running the truck for a while it will go away. But when idling from dead start I get the power issue again. Please help

Welcome to the forum.

Read this thread. Try the things suggested, as I feel your problem is one of them. ( suspect the fuel pump )

I agree. There are a few things you can do that won't cost anything. Rent a fuel pressure tester from you local auto parts chain store (Autozone, O'reilly's, etc). When you return it, you get your money back. There's lots of info here on the forum on how to use it. Also, if you haven't done this already, learn how to pull codes off your computer from the sticky's at the top of this forum. The KOEO and especially the KOER (key on engine running) test may prove useful if your problem is in the engine management system (MAF, TPS, etc). I've seen where the same symptoms you describe could be either fuel pressure or a throttle position sensor. It could be other things more difficult to find, such as a plugged cat. Use the search on the forum and keep at it, you'll fix it eventually.

Might be the fuel filter. I'd say replace it as normal maintenance and see what happens... you are supposed to install a new filter with a new fuel pump anyway. But, the fuel line fittings to the filter can be challenging to get loose. It's almost a right of passage in my mind, to master those fittings. You will face the same fittings if you replace the pump, so you will also learn something in the process (and acquire some new tools), either way.

Your iac valve is faulty. replace and its fixed. GL
