So ive done a tt, shackles and 31s. This is on a 96 eb v8 by the way. I know the change in tire size will throw off the speedometer and odometer. Will this also affect the message center? Anyways here are my questions:

1. Is it still properly calculating my fuel economy?
2. Are the mileage readings it displays accurate?
3. How does the oil life meter work (kinda un-related)?

Curious on the oil life meter cause i just put castrol edge in there and its supposed to be good for 15000 miles even though i wont hit that in a year. But what exactly does it monitor? i.e. In my car the oil life meter monitors engine revs, temps, etc. to calculate when you would need to change oil although it is quite a bit newer than the explorer.

Thanks in advance,
Mike

on my X it seems to be fairly accurate with calculating the fuel economy.
what mileage readings are you talking about? the distance to E? Miles driven? if you installed it correctly then the miles driven should be with in .10 miles of your trucks odometer. the distance to E in mine is fairly accurate. the oil life meter is based on a 3000 mile oil change. so once you hit 3,000 miles it pops up reminding you to change the oil soon or change the oil now.

Yes i was refering to miles to E. Was mainly just curious. Its an eddie bauer so it came with the message center. Its good to know that the oil life meter is based on a 3000 mile cycle so i now know not to pay attention to it.

Thanks,
Mike
