Hey guys
I am putting a 3" bl tt and shackles on my 97 xlt. I am putting on 33's and dont know alot about metric sizes. I just took a ride up the road to my local tire shop. I had them show me a lt 285 75 16. Nice tire but it looks a little skinny to me. Can I go with a 85 or 95 for this truck on a 16" rim. Any help would be great
thanks
ps: i did search quite a bit for this question but most here seem to have 15" rims.

well man if u wanna convert metric size to inches heres the equation
take the tire width (285) and multiply by the aspect ratio as a percentage (.75)... then do the conversion to inches (.03937)... now u have the size of the edge of the rim to the edge of the tire so do that times 2... then add the rim size and there ya go

(285)(.75) = 213.75
(213.75)(.03937) = 8.42
(8.42)(2) = 16.84
16.84 + 16 [rim] = 32.84 inches
