I haven't played with everything yet, expecially not navigation, but the improvement in 2.11 over 2.7 is noticeable. If this had been the shipping version of the software I think there would have been some grumbles but mostly happy folks.

My grumbles:
1) Everything with Sirius controls takes too long- "Loading". Browsing for a channel is so unpleasant as to make me avoid doing it. In the BMW, I wheel through the channel list frequently, looking for something new or different.
2) Using the scroll bar on the right edge of the screen still has times that it fails to act upon (or maybe even register) a touch to scroll. This seems to be in a variety of menus.
3) A few menu transitions are still weird- the text drops toward the center and then goes back up towards the top. rather than looking like a neat transition, it looks like it got part of the way to the center before deciding it was supposed to be at the top.

My praise:
1) Inputs are confirmed very quickly- touch the seat heat or A/C button and it acknowledges it immediately.
2) Screen changes are noticeably faster

Again, if this had been my first experience with MFT I would be mostly content. Of course, I look forward to MFT 3.x with hopes that it will make me say, "Check this out!"

Honestly, I'm not seeing any significant difference.

I still have lag upon startup when pressing the voice command button.

But then again, I don't have Nav, keep the phonebook auto update shut off, and don't use Sync.

The biggest thing I like about MFT is the screen size for the backup camera.

It is way better, I too had the 2.7v when I took delievery in April. I too like the 2.11 alot better, I've always had pleasantries to say about the SYNC/MFT. My bluetooth always connects and almost istantley after startup, I mean quickly I can't see where the drag is.

I went from 2.8 to 2.11 and the only difference that I can see is that I lose BT streaming more often under 2.11 than I did under 2.8. I kind of wish I'd stayed with 2.8.

Well, darn.

The positives noted above still hold true but the problems with iPhone integration remain. I plugged mine in to listen to some tunes and the input option was "A/V In" or whatever. I tried disconnecting and reconnecting, rebooting, rebooting the iPhone to no avail. Finally it sorted itself out but it took a long time - and me going into a store and returning. It also failed to pair with my phone later on. I do wonder if the problem is on Apple's side or Ford's.

My Ex is currently being built. Which version of MFT comes installed on the 2012's?

Hi, bad_dog!

You will have 2.11 installed on your Explorer when you get it :)

Hi, Randy!

Have you performed a Master Reset recently? It may be a good idea to do one soon.

MENU > SETTINGS > SYSTEM> MASTER RESET

Let me know if it helps!

On my last visit to the dealer they installed v2.11 to address a couple issues (I had v2.8). I have not recieved any NAV SD faults and the system seems to load up much quicker.

One interesting note - The dealer tried installing v2.11 on a previous visit and they we having internet problems. They reverted back to 2.8. After this my text messaging started "working". I would get a message and MFT would alert me who it was from. However when I went to play the message, it was a really old one that has since been deleted from my phone. Now with v2.11, I am back to only getting notification when I first start the X :( My phone is a Motorola DEFY (Android v2.2.1)

I went from 2.7 to 2.11 last week and the results have been mixed. My radio no longer turns on after I hang up my phone. However my IPOD touch has gotten more finicky. Sometimes I have to plug and unplug several times for it to start and/or show what's playing. I never had a problem with 2.7. Also the clock still randomly jumps ahead an hour.

No improvement noticed here.....
Off the top of my head the biggest annoyance for me is that it ignores half of your inputs.....say you tap the seek button 10 times to move 10 channels up on Sirius...you'll tap 10 times and hear 10 of those popping noises, but you're lucky if it moves 5 channels. I noticed climate control sorta does the same thing, but it won't ignore half of your inputs, there will just be a lag between when you tap on the temp button and the actual movement of the temp on the screen.
Don't know if Navigation falls under MFT, but inputting an address into navigations is a P.I.T.A. It's always trying to guess what I'm typing, so I always end up selecting ND for North Dakota when I'm trying to just type NY for New York.... I hit the N button and it switches to a list of states beginning with N....then end up tapping where Y would be and mistakenly select North Dakota instead. Same thing happens for towns etc. Maybe there's a way to turn that feature off, but I haven't looked.

Hi, Bill!

I don't see that we have tested that particular phone so I can't confirm if texting should work or not. However, have you tried resetting your phone? I have found that a battery pull, or for some phones a reboot, will allow texting to work again. Also, deleting SYNC from your phone and your phone from SYNC and then re-pairing them helps.

Let me know if this helps!

Hello, FoodDr!

Please check your software version on your MFT and let me know what it says. Do the following:

MENU > HELP > SYSTEM INFORMATION > CCPU S/W VERSION

If it says 4.23.11134, please private message me with your VIN. I would like to make sure the install was completed properly. If that is not what comes up on your screen, the update was not completed.

Hey, Mello!

I'm thinking you may need to slow down when trying to change things :) Give it a second or two between taps and see if that helps!

It still shouldn't just ignore your inputs. I shouldn't be faster than a computer, especially when just changing the channel on the radio. MFT basically performs like a 10 year old laptop or like a Blackberry Storm, for those who are familiar with that hunk of junk answer to the iPhone.

+1 you are totally correct!!!
