I am looking into these rims and I wanted to get some feedback from the people who have them (I know there are quite a few). How do they clean up? I know they're aluminum, so I'm a little worried about this.

Any other comments about these rims would be appreciated!

I loved/love mine, but they had didn't have any clear coat on them so you had to keep up with them.

And they don't take hard hits to the lip too well, but that's kinda my own fault.

Hartman, with your all black truck there is no way around it, you have to get some sort of black rockcrawler.

Thanks for the input. I will probably put some Zoop Seal on these anyway. I am NOT going with black rock crawlers, are you nuts? This is not a trail rig.

Trail rig or not I just think it will look badass totally blacked out, like Alecs old ride. But I guess the streeter in you still has to have a little bit of something that shines:p

Dont get me wrong, they shine very well its just I think they look a little cloudy up close. Heres the most recent pic i have of them cleaned up. They are about 1 year old here.

Well I still want my truck to look someone appealing to the eye.

redrig, what size wheels you are you running with those tires? 15x10? I think thats the look I'm after. do you know what your backspacing is by any chance?

They are 15x8 and the backspacing is 3 and 5/16.

great wheel for the $$$ from what I have seen.
Polished aluminunis a PITA compared to chrome, but still shines up nice.

If you want black look at the teflon coated rims from American Racing.
hahaha

I would get the Classic II's in a heartbeat for my off road rims :)

I agree with Hartman 100% about the black rims. Chrome or aluminum or nothing if ya ask me, but then again, I would love to have his old rims, but I can't depart with my still in the box CobraR's and brand new 17", still with the tags on, Pirelli's. I can't take that hit money wise.

I edited to add this, Redrig, that truck looks simply amazing in that picture. Of course I can't see it close up to see the paint, is that factory paint or a re-paint job? If it is factory, what did you do to get all of the old dead paint off? And SVO, what else can I say, LOL, that's you bud, that's you. ROFL

Im pretty sure its factory paint. The truck was in immaculate condition and garage kept when I bought, I used the clay bar and maguires polish and wax to get the paint to look like that. Thanks for the compliment!!

Mine have been pretty beat up by the rocks at Grey Rock, they look good for a week after you polish them, then they go cloudy again, this is with constant off road abuse though, constantly being submerged in mud and then not being cleaned for a week. I'm sure if you get a set you will maintain them since you won't be in the mud all the time, if you keep them clean they will always shine, if you neglect them, like me, then they will start giving you problems. A friend of mine has a set of these on his disco truck for about 2 years and still looked brand new.

I'm very happy with mine, I've wheeled the piss out of them with no problems.
They have a few nicks and gouges from rocks but thats to be expected.
I was a little concerned about using cast aluminum wheels for off road but they've held up fine. I used to have the original M/T Classic (made by Alcoa)
wheels and they seemed to shine up better but took a bit of work if you didn't maintain the shine. I like the look of the larger holes on the Classic II's much better though.
