I have been posting a few threads on issues with misfire codes and running like crap a few months back. I assumed the issues were resolved with of course the help of fellow members of this board and i was happy but again the issue has arrived.

Past issues just to bring everyone up to speed. The truck couldnt keep a steady rpm and would jerk when i would drive. I ended up changing the plugs again after the previous ones were only three months old seemed to fail. I did give it a complete tune up with motorcraft wires, motorcraft plugs, pcv and fuel filter a few months ago. Ran good for about a week then again the same issue, jerking and couldnt keep a steady rpm in the range of 40MPH around 2500 RPM give or take. I cleaned out the MAF sensor with the specific MAF cleaner and the truck ran fine. Once again for about a week. The next step i took was to retorque the intake gaskets which i changed about 6 months ago. Yes they were loose. Problem resolved and the truck ran good for another week. Problem came back again so i ended up changing out the MAF with one from junkyard. Cleaned it first and installed it. Truck ran fine for about three days and this is where i am now. I have no idea what the hell it can be. The codes that i took off last night are listed below.

All help would be greatly appreciated. I do have the truck for sale and i would like to get the issue resolved becasue i am not the person to sell anything that i know has issues unless someone gives me a fair price and they want to troubleshoot it themselves. I also dont have the time for this. Change of job location so i need a vehicle that i can count on. The funny thing is no matter how the truck runs it never died on me. It gives me all its got to either get to work or home. Okay here are the codes:::::

PO113 is the IAT ( Intake air temp_ sensor showing a high input. You might check the sensor and wiring

po154 is 02 sensor 1 on bank 2 inactive-It could be bad, or there could be a wiring issue

po306 is a misfire at #6, which is also on bank 2 of the engine.

If replacing the plug repairs the misfire for only a short time-then some sort of fouling is happeneing. Could be a small amount of coolant leaking onto it.

Is the coolant level holding, or do you see it go down slowly?

I would check the IAT, get it working and go from there. You might even try to reset the PCM connection by removing the plug and re fitting it.

Bank 2 is driver side-sensor 1 is the closest one to the engine. You might check it's wiring, looking very carefully into the connector for a pin to be pushed out???

Thank you for the help but i need to ask a few STUPID questions...
What is IAT?
Reset the PCM connection? Where is that??
I wouldnt mind to change out all the dam 02 sensors. It does has 115000 miles and maybe its about time. Where would i be able to pick some up for a fair price but not at a dealer. I did read a few posts on how people have purchased crap ones and they didnt work.

thanks so much for the help.

Always appreciated?

The IAT, is the intake air temp sensor. It will be in the air intake tube. There are 2 wires going to it.

For the pcm plug-
look right over the blower housing, on the passenger side of the firewall. There is a great big plug with about 150 wires going into it. remove the 11mm bolt in the center, and pull out. re connect it and tighten down the bolt. This may not correct anything, but it cannot hurt either.

Hold up a minute--
does your maf sensor have 4, or 6 wires?

JTSmith - I dont think i have a air intake temp sensor unless it is on the MAF sensor all in one. I have removed the intake tube hundred of times and the only thing that is connected to it is the MAF and filter at one end and the other right into the intake. I would have to see how many wires i have on the plug connecting to the MAF but i almost sure its 6.

Hmmm,
If it has 6 wires, the IAT is part of the MAf sensor-

So, I think you are on to something-if you read your first post.

Try clearing the codes, and see which pop back up. Also, maybe cleaning the maf sesnor will help?

OH
Be sure the maf you used as a replacement has 6 connectors in the plug--my maf plg is large enough for 6, however there are only 4 in there-

okay so get this...I get home and i start to look things over. First i take off the intake tube from the intake while the truck is running. Once i took it off the truck shuts off. Im thinking okay maybe the TPS. I get one screw off and the other i cant. So i sprayed intake cleaner holding the flap open. I go start the truck and after a few times it starts. Now its running at least but still with a mis but at least runnning. I go ahead and start looking around for other things when i came to this...I started to take one spark plug wire off the coil pack at a time while the truck is running to see if it make a difference. Basically all did except two. Front pass and rear drivers side. Said to myself maybe the wires are bad. Motorcraft 6 month old ones. DAAA ANyway I picked the one from the front pass side and i am holding it up high away from coil pack and i actually can feel the pulsating like a spark.

Now im no expert but been around cars enough and am i wrong to think that this shouldnt happen. Why would i feel the pulsating if the wire is connectted to the spark plug and the other side im holding it in the air. Isnt the oil pack the side that starts the inital spark???????

Okay so now do i get wires AGAIN and go from there?????

Dam this sucks.

update:::

I finally got the truck running good. I ended up changing the plug wires and had no luck still had the same issue. After that i decided to change one plug at a time to see if i get lucky. I had two old plugs that were good laying around and it was to late to go to the store to buy a whole brand new set. The first two i changed i got lucky it worked the truck ran good. Wasnt sure which one was the issue because i changed two at the same time. The drivers side front and the drivers side rear. Anyway at least i got it running good. I plan on buying new plugs and just changing them all.

I just dont understand why two sets of plugs have gone bad on me within a few thousand miles??? Any ideas??

thanks for all the help
